TRADITIONAL HERBAL EXTRACT: Mai Men Dong is the name given to the white tuber of the Ophiopogon japonicus plant in TCM. Mai Men Dong translates as ‘luxuriant winter’ and is native to East Asia and Japan. Historically the root has been known as a famine food and has numerous health benefits.
SUGGESTED USE: This tincture can simply be added to water or any liquid of your choice. 2-3ml taken 2-3 times a day.
THE TINCTURE: Tinctures were first used in ancient Egypt before entering Europe from the 12th century onwards. Right up until the 1970?s tinctures were common until pills and capsules became more popular. They are now enjoying a resurgence in popularity because of their simplicity and relatively few ingredients. Tinctures are a liquid extract of plant leaves, roots, bark, fruit, seeds and flowers.
QUALITY & MANUFACTURE: Tinctures are an extraction made by cold percolation of plant material. This is an extremely efficient process which does not waste any of the precious herbal constituents. All our tinctures are housed in brown glass to ensure light longevity and a dropper for ease of use.
