How to Choose a Softshell Jacket
What is a softshell jacket? Softshell jackets is a lightweight outerwear option that have become extremely popular in recent years. Their woven fabric construction makes them breathable, warm & windproof. Most importantly, softshell is much more flexible than the stiffer fabrics used for traditional hardshell jackets. This makes them more comfortable and allows greater freedom of movement.
What are they used for? Softshells can be used for a wide range of activities, either as a standalone jacket or as an extra, windproof midlayer underneath a waterproof in extreme conditions. Their breathability and flexibility make them popular with runners, cyclists, climbers and skiers.
